Two Flamingos is a family-founded creative technology company making beautifully designed educational experiences for children and families, combining storytelling, culture and interactive technology.
About The Founders
Lydia Bogdanovych and Alexander Grytsiuk are the Ukrainian-American founders of Two Flamingos and former directors at Snap Inc. (Snapchat), with more than a decade of experience in augmented reality, design and engineering.
Lydia Bogdanovych — Co-founder & Creative Director
Lydia spent nearly a decade at Snap, where she ran AR design and led the team behind some of Snapchat’s most recognizable experiences — including the iconic Dog Lens, rainbow-vomiting Lens and Dancing Hot Dog.
Alexander Grytsiuk — Co-founder & Engineering Lead
Alexander spent nearly a decade at Snap as an engineering leader, ultimately serving as Director of Engineering. He is also a named inventor on numerous patents in camera and AR-related technology.
Our Story
We were both born and raised in Ukraine, but our daughters were born thousands of miles away in Los Angeles.
First because of the pandemic, and then because of the war, neither of our girls had the chance to visit Ukraine, where their grandparents and great-grandparents still live.
As they grew up, it became increasingly important to us that Ukrainian culture wasn’t something they simply knew they came from, but something they could experience, understand and make their own.
We had spent most of our careers building technology and augmented reality experiences at Snap Inc. (Snapchat). So we decided to use what we knew best — storytelling, design, technology and AR — to create a different way for our children to discover the traditions we grew up with.
What started as a project for our own family became Christmas Traditions of Ukraine: first a book, and now an interactive bilingual app created for children and families growing up across languages, cultures and borders.
Today, our family lives in London. Ukraine is still far away, but its traditions remain very much a part of our home.

Christmas in Ukraine is a bilingual interactive app that brings Ukrainian winter traditions, folklore and celebrations to life through beautifully illustrated stories, animation, activities, professional narration, and a camera featuring variety of augmented reality experiences.
Created by a Ukrainian-American family to help their own children stay connected to the culture they were growing up far away from.
